For day-time activities, why not organise a fishing charter with a couple of eskies full of beer – the fishing up here is insane! Or want to see some crocs? There are more crocodiles in the NT than anywhere else in the world – you can swim with them at Crocosaurus Cove or head out on crocodile cruise to see them in the wild. If you’re looking for somewhere to cool down, head over to Darwin’s Waterfront Precinct, a 5 minute walk from the CBD. It features a swimming lagoon and wave pool, parklands, shops, restaurants and bars.
Once the sun goes down, check out Mitchell Street – it’s where you’ll find most of the pubs and clubs in town. Of course, Skycity Casino is always popular with footy teams on their end of season trip.
Something to take note of is that Darwin is known for its ‘red-eye’ flights (flights departing late at night, arriving early the next morning). It is possible to avoid these flight options however this is generally done by taking indirect flights.
